Well I am definitely having issues with finding enough material to post about last week, as my on site advisor (Dr. Romero) was on vacation for the past week, leaving me to find chiralities of all of the drugs on the QT list. Finding chiralities proved to be much more difficult than I thought, as there is not just one source to find this information. I completed the chiralities, but could not find which isomers were used.
As for now, I have gained more of a voice in the CERT meetings. I am putting more input and should be getting ready to show off my Google Scholar skillz later on to CERT. I have been assigned to individually analyze every single case that involves Torsades de Pointes and Erythromycin, and compile as much data about all 134 case studies. Its been a rather tedious process, but it has been completed after 2 solid days of work. As for now, back to updating and expanding the list, finishing the presentations and adding drugs to some of the lists.
Nothing foodwise happened this week.
What is a Senior Research Project?
At BASIS Tucson, seniors have the chance to propose an independent research project that takes place off campus during the last trimester of the year. The seniors whose proposals are accepted write their own syllabi and then head off into the world, to a site where they conduct their research while interning with a professional in the field. Those of us stuck on campus follow their adventures on this blog. Now that the projects are over, we are all excited to attend their presentations. The schedule is as follows:
